TOTS 3 - OVERVIEW, DESCRIPTION, & OBJECTIVES

Mastery Workshop - Complex Neurological Challenges (16 hours)

• In Level 3 the participant is also a teacher facilitated by the instructor.

• 6 Complex cases are presented and assessed and treated by the instructor.

• The participants are invited to share experiences and offer suggestions for additional strategies to overlay on the TMR Tots model. Following treatment additional strategies and care plan to overlay on the TMR Tots model.

• Taken in person only due to this being primarily a hands-on lab course with the demo patients.

Following Completion of All 3 Levels of Tots, written & practical examinations are available to earn Your Certification, C/TMR. Sign up on the website and contact instructor for further information.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Demo Fest! 6 Challenging Clients - How Can We Progress?

• Brainstorm with peers and discuss most challenging cases to treat the most complex cases. Working with instructor to test, treat and develop an advanced plan of care for each patient.

• Participate with your peers in sharing ideas to overlay on a TMR. foundation to facilitate Activation

• Discuss experience with differential diagnosis - eg: Where is the issue coming from? eg: How might gait issue be related to eye gaze.

• Explore with your peers the application of additional modalities (your tools & theirs) to facilitate patient engagement in releases, activities and participation.

• Describe how to support when you cannot yet activate in a position to utilize new available range and maintain progress

• Discuss advanced care plans of participants demonstrating their journey down the decision tree as they treat a complex patient

• Discuss: What is new? What are your gifts? How they fit in the decision tree and enhance Tots?

• Explore application of Tots in moving targets

• Discuss significance of limitations in other systems (eg: eye gaze) and relationship between challenges with gait

• We will discuss examples where children broke through the ceiling of our expectations

• Explore layering therapy of other strategies on a tots foundation

• Share strategies from your peers with additional methods to provide sensory input reinforcing body awareness to improved alignment and access.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

By the end of this workshop the participant will be able to:

• Discuss the sequence of utilizing cross transfer to facilitate the involved side in a child with Erbs Palsy

Compare 2 options for engaging patient participation in patient with multiple handicaps supine or side

lying.

• Describe 3 ideas gleaned from peers to facilitate patient participation

• Demonstrate targeted organization in a complex patient (eg.in-toeing gait)

• Create an advanced care plan for a complex patient demonstration.

Certification

Certification includes a written test and practical demonstration for the therapist to complete.

• The written test is open book and emailed to the therapist. Upon successful completion, the therapist

has a choice of how to present their practical 1) Demo and case study at Tots 3 class online or in

person or 2) Video or Live demonstration to instructor with discussion of care plan

• Candidates for certification will have the opportunity to demonstrate their proficiency as we analyze

their care plan and utilization of the decision tree with one of their challenging patients at a level 2 or 3

course.

• The therapist will complete a written examination covering the principles of the TMR Tots

concept. They will demonstrate a treatment and describe the previous, current and future care

plan for a complex patient either during a class or 1:1 video or streaming with instructor
